History is much more than dates and dry facts. History is alive with stories, big and small. The past gives testimony to mankind's greatest triumphs and most pitiable moments.

Little Bits of History

Every day something happens. Momentous events, laudable achievements, firsts and lasts. I offer insights into the stories of the past. Most "On This Day" features simply list who was born, who died, or one line about world events.

I offer essays on the stories in history. Each day I examine one historical event. Meticulously researched topics range from the sublime to the ridiculous and include the best moments and worst debacles created by both humans and nature. The essays are a few hundred words in length offering a closer look at the day's topic. Quotes are added to add  a sparkle and enhance the day's subject matter.

In a matter of minutes, the reader will have gained a greater understanding of history without all the painful memorization of facts for a test. These writings are accurate and interesting. And you just might learn something.

Fiction

Some stories are too good to be true. They are creations of the author and not restrained by Earthly ties. These tales are called fiction.

I have included here a few of the stories written based on an idea explored through My Writers Circle. My flash fiction includes Cassie, a woman trapped in a world of abandoned characters in a place called The Station. The tales are interconnected and reveal Cassie's attempt to escape the world of trapped and lost creations. The Boss, her Author, is oblivious to her plight.
